Founded in 1913, Dukes Memorial Hospital has been caring for the people of Miami County ever since. The dream of Captain Aaron Dukes, the building first was put into use when the Wabash River overflowed its banks. Sick and injured flood victims sought refuge and Dukes Hospital received its first patients.
Affiliation with Community Health Systems Inc. means Dukes has greater access to capital and resources to expand services and attract physicians representing new specialties. Dukes employs approximately 400 people and is the second largest employer in Miami County.
